Please be aware that we are continuously updating this scrapebox footprint list to cover the best footprints in 2017. Please do check back on a regular basis for more footprints.

If you’re working agency side then you would have most likely heard of Scrapebox. It’s a piece of kit that allows SEO’s to automate their link building campaigns and to create links to other sites via blog comments. It’s also known as a spamming machine that can be used to get the word out about something via contact forms.. but I wouldn’t recommend it. I’m not a fan of automating link building now, but it is a tool that’s used by SEO’s all of the world, both in-house and freelancers, in conjunction with other tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz etc.

Having such a hefty amount of experience using Scrapebox, I have a lot of knowledge to share, however, I’m not using it that much anymore as I’m starting to do things ‘the white-hat way’ but I thought I’d share my massive list of scrapebox footprints for anyone that’s looking to better their own personal seo footprint lists.

What is Scrapebox

Ha, let’s start from the bottom. Well.. I’m not sure if Scrapebox is considered ‘legal’ in the eyes of Googlebot, but it can work if you use the software right with proxies. Spamming a ton of links to your root domain isn’t going to do you any favors, but if that’s the approach you’d like to take with your SEO strategy, that’s your call.

Scrapebox is a link building tool that’s used to find and scrape content around the web by using “footprints”, if you’re planning on finding websites that have referenced “Powered By WordPress”, Scrapebox can be used to search the web and collect all of the website URL’s using that specific piece of copy. It can be used for a wide range of reasons, and the more technical your footprints are, the better results you will find. In essence, Scrapebox does two things:

  • Scrapes search engine results;
  • Posts automatic blog comments with URL’s attached.

Once you have a wide range URL’s, you can then use Scrapebox to automatically post a comment to those URL’s using a name that you specify, an email, unique content and a URL (which will be your website). Some blogs have auto-approve on, some don’t, it’s important you conjure a great message, therefore, your comment(s) will be approved and then you’ll have yourself a link – but when you submit your comment to thousands of blogs, you’ll find that even with the most basic of comments, you’ll still find that some get approved.

What Is a Scrapebox Footprint

Good question, the above isn’t going to cut it. A Scrapebox footprint is a syntax that’s used to essentially order Scrapebox to go and find websites with a piece of content. So let’s say you were on the lookout for WordPress blogs, what do all WordPress blogs have in common? .. the footer copyright text. Therefore we can use a wordpress footprint of ‘Powered By WordPress’ to scrape a ton of WordPress sites, I hope that makes sense.

In order to scrape as many website URL’s as you can, you’ll need a footprints list in place to do so, but it’s getting the footprints together that can be the tricky part, therefore please do find my favorite set of scrapebox footprints below. If you’re looking for a keyword list, don’t forget to take a peek at my scrapebox keyword lists too.

        • Hi Varun,

          Thanks for commenting.

The footprints are hidden, you will firstly need to sign up to our email form to unlock it.

We don’t spam, nor pass on emails.

          Thanks, Brett

    • Great to hear Kathryn, it’s a fantastic tool once you get to grips with all of the features.

I wish you the best of luck, let me know how you get on.

    • Hi Tamara,

Thanks for commenting – yes, there are lots for WordPress as it’s such a big platform.

I will continue to update this post moving forward, if I have anymore footprints expect them to be here.

  • Nice blog right here! Also your site rather a lot up fast! What web host are you the use of? Can I am getting your affiliate link in your host? I wish my site loaded up as fast as yours lol

    • Awh, thanks. Ha – yes it is quite quick.

I guess it really depends on the price you are willing to pay, if you have quite a large budget then it’s you’re quite feasible in terms of finding a great host.

Use our contact form and I can get in touch with you via email re the host – no worries about the affiliate link.

  • Can you do a case study on SerpClix? I used it to move up 5 spots to #8, but it won’t move it further. Can you test it, or link me to a study where you have tested it?

    • Hi Hailee,

Thanks for commenting, this is something we can look into, certainly.

However, we aren’t a fan of trying to manipulate the search results by buying clicks, you’re better off optimising your title and meta’s to try and increase CTR naturally.

Buying clicks won’t do you any favours in the long run!

      Thanks, Brett

  • Hey Brett,

Not sure whether I’m impatient, but I tried to subscribe to gain access and got no reply 🙁

Any chance you can send to me directly via the comment email mate?

  • Hi Brett,

I have tried to submit my email for footprint list but doesn’t seem to be working. I am looking for both the footprint and keyword list can you please contact me at my email I provided.

      • Same problem. Opted in multiple times with multiple email addresses. Nothing. Your form’s not working. Pretty big problem to have for conversion don’cha think? You might wanna figure that out.

Also, how do I access your lead magnets?

        • This is strange, it seems to be working for some but not everyone. I’m still getting conversions on the daily.

What’s your email? I can send some along. 🙂

          Thanks, Brett

    • Hi Stuart,

Yes, you’re right, for some reason the list is loading for some but not others – how strange!

May I ask what your email is? I can then send along some of the footprints to you.

      Sorry about the trouble.
