It's always good practice to stay up to date with the Google webmaster guidelines, if you aren't aware of them, or you need to improve your understanding, this post will be useful.

As we are busy working on different implementations all the time and our prioritization lists are different, it’s tricky to find the time to have a good old’ read through the official Google webmaster guidelines documents. It’s honestly a ball ache as the documentation is very bulky and contains lots of text. If you’re like me, after I’ve considered my website implementation, I will then go have a quick glimpse of the guidelines to see if it’s legal in the eyes of Googlebot. If it is, I proceed, if not well ..

I have seen lots of sites get penalized in the past and it’s not nice at all, everything from malicious links to site-wide schema markup implementations. I’d suggest having a quick read before implementing anything, as one minor change can cripple your organic revenue if it’s not done correctly.

As it’s good practice to stay up to date with the Google webmaster guidelines and I’m sure we would all like to stay on the safe side of things when it comes to preserving our Google rankings and all of our hard work in the SERP’Ss. I have decided to get together a list of the must-know documents in the webmaster guidelines for your readings.

Please be aware that this list may be outdated in the future, I will try my absolute best to try and proactively update this list. This list will save you the time of having to go through the webmaster site and find them yourself, all of the important ones (I feel) are included below:

Yep, it’s a long list and I can imagine it’s going to take you some time to get through them all, but it’ll be worth it in the long-run.
